Experience
In the Piedmont College arena I am a member of both the Secondary and Middle Grades Education Departments in the School of Education (SOE), serve as chair of the former, represent the SOE as part of the PC Center for Teaching and Learning, and serve as Project Director/ Sustainability Chair for the Piedmont College Woodrow Wilson Georgia Teaching Fellowship Program. I also serve as Co-Chair of the PERC (Piedmont Educator Renewal Conference) Committee. I teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses, supervise candidate Internships (student teaching), and serve as a doctoral committee chair and committee member. I spent 16 years teaching secondary social studies in both traditional and non-traditional settings in Barrow County. I hold a grades 6-12 broadfield Social Studies certificate, 6-12 in-field Gifted endorsement, and am a Teacher Support Specialist. My K-12 experience includes: blended learning, cross-disciplinary PBL and Service Learning, digital citizenship, literacy integration, program development and evaluation, and online curriculum development.. I was named Barrow County High School Teacher of the Year for 2010-2011. I taught Piedmont Ed.S. and undergraduate courses as an adjunct instructor prior to joining PC as full-time faculty in 2013 and am proud to be part of the Piedmont College family! |

Personal
I am married with two adult children, a DIL, and a shichon (shih tzu-bichon hybrid) named Cooper.
I enjoy reading, walking, hiking, and yoga; spending time with my family and friends; and listening to music - my preferences vary widely.
I'm an Army brat and spent much of my young life traveling around the U.S. and Europe.
My Bucket List:

My Bucket List:
- Take an RV trip across the U.S.
- Visit Alaska, my birthplace
- Go to Europe as an adult, especially the former Eastern Bloc nations (USSR-occupied when we lived there!) Pssst --- I DID this the summer of 2014, partially... Went to Paris with my mom and daughter!
- Run (walk) the Peachtree Road Race
- Re-learn French and learn Spanish
